To say these are stories isn't quite true; they are largely bits of stories from masters such as Clarke, Wells, Bradbury, Vonnegut, etc. with surprises like The Book of Revelations and Jan Mark. As such they form a useful introduction and taster for the SF seeker to discover new reads and (maybe) unfamiliar authors. Daniel Keyes' 'Flowers for Algernon' might come into this category, which Fisk places on his list of '... our century's "Finest Short Stories"'. Worth the investment of a library copy.
