The 'Sweet Goodbyes' series, of which this is No. 6, specialises in the shattering effects of fatal illnesses and death on teenage relationships ... rent a crisis/soap opera you cry! Actually the tears do jerk, but this one, where HIV girl meets Leukemia boy, is soundly written and there's a fair portion of gentle empathy and sensitive factual input that might do a great deal of good in fostering understanding and breaking down prejudices and unwarranted fears. Teenagers will no doubt find them irresistible.
