Send to friendThis 'audio fiction' for the 8-11 age range is certainly different! Jim's mum locks him in a high-rise flat and goes off to Bingo after he refuses to eat his greens. An hour-long adventure follows when the Umbells, slimey green inhabitants of the Green Planet, burst in and take Jim away on their giant cabbage spaceship. The sound effects are outstandingly inventive and varied - a child wearing headphones, with unearthly sounds and multi voices zapping him stereophonically, is actually with Jim. An exciting exploration of the audio cassette medium by a whole cast of characters.
