This is an intriguing, thriller with a space/aliens twist, which provides the reader with more questions than answers, right to the last page. I had a job to put it down once I’d started and the puzzle still keeps drifting into my mind.

Bullied, misfit Paul; he of the poor eyesight and chronic eczema, claims to have had his life turned around and his illnesses cured after a cycle accident caused by an alien visitation in a deserted country lane. No wonder that later he wants to try to effect the same miracle for his badly disfigured friend, Melissa.

The narrative is split between seemingly comatose Paul and then mainly from the point of view of his sceptical sister Laura. This cleverly adds layers of gripping uncertainty to the story, drawing the reader into its deep mysteries. Well worth promoting. DB
